Investing.com -- Canada's main stock index, the S&P/TSX Composite index edged higher today but remained near three-month lows, supported by energy stocks as OPEC+ production cuts, a Russian fuel export ban, and dwindling US crude stockpiles raise concerns of tight supply.

Shares of Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB) after the company announced plans to raise $33.8 million in a share offering in order to repay the remainder of its outstanding convertible senior notes at or before maturity. Canaccord Genuity (TSX:CF) has agreed to buy 46,250,000 shares of the company at a price of 73 cents per share, on a bought deal basis.

Statistics Canada says the number of job vacancies in July fell 5.8%, declining by 43,100 from June. On a year-over-year basis, job vacancies are down by 28.1%. There are now 1.7 unemployed people for every job vacancy in July, up from 1.5 in June.
