The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Admiral Group PLC (LON:ADML), which rose 3.94% or 123.0 points to trade at 3244.0 at the close. B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) added 2.20% or 12.00 points to end at 557.00 and NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG) was up 2.17% or 4.40 points to 206.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR), which lost 5.21% or 5.26 points to trade at 95.74 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 4.24% or 7.84 points to end at 177.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) shed 3.62% or 33.80 points to 899.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1088 to 1088 and 234 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 4.45 to $1806.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.71% or 0.53 to hit $74.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.48 to trade at $75.07 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.13% to 1.3881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 92.252.
