United Arab Emirates shares higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.42%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.42%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 14.59% or 0.270 points to trade at 2.120 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 5.91% or 0.130 points to end at 2.330 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 4.18% or 0.028 points to 0.698 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 1.79% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.660 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.41% or 0.004 points to end at 0.280 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 1.23% or 0.050 points to 4.000.

The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which rose 4.17% to 0.750, Ras Al Khaimah Poultry and Feeding Co (AD:RAKP) which was up 3.28% to settle at 1.89 and Finance House (AD:FH) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 1.700.

The worst performers were Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 4.80% to 1.190 in late trade, International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which lost 3.01% to settle at 1.29 and Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) which was down 1.33% to 3.70 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 4 fell and 2 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.58% or 0.38 to $65.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.19% or 0.92 to hit $76.40 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1303.50 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.26% to 4.3233.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.55.
