Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Telecoms and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.47%, while the ADX General index gained 0.04%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR), which rose 1.76% or 0.110 points to trade at 6.370 at the close. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) added 1.45% or 0.04 points to end at 2.79 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was up 1.39% or 0.007 points to 0.510 in late trade.

Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 2.82% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.654 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 2.79% or 0.017 points to end at 0.592 and Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) shed 2.60% or 2.00 points to 75.00.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 15.00% to 2.30, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 12.64% to settle at 2.94 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which gained 7.41% to close at 2.90.

The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 8.02% to 1.95 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 6.00% to settle at 0.470 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 4.41% to 3.25 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 16 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 17 fell and 7 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.82% or 0.38 to $46.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.57% or 0.27 to hit $47.87 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.47% or 6.05 to trade at $1269.45 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.20% to 4.1873.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 94.00.
