Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.32%, while the ADX General index fell 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC), which rose 14.71% or 0.250 points to trade at 1.950 at the close. Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) added 6.10% or 0.230 points to end at 4.000 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 4.61% or 0.044 points to 0.999 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which lost 4.37% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.750 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 3.33% or 0.060 points to end at 1.740 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) shed 3.14% or 0.170 points to 5.250.
The top performers on the ADX General were United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which rose 14.29% to 1.200, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was up 11.99% to settle at 2.99 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 6.90% to close at 0.620.
The worst performers were Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was down 4.76% to 1.000 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 2.78% to settle at 1.0500 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 2.70% to 0.7200 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 7 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.08% or 0.75 to $70.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.00% or 0.75 to hit $75.62 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1313.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.38% to 4.3775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 92.69.
