Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.16%, while the ADX General index gained 0.02%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 4.71% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 2.31% or 0.016 points to end at 0.708 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) was up 1.80% or 0.006 points to 0.340 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV), which lost 2.50% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.950 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.41% or 0.007 points to end at 0.283 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) shed 1.50% or 0.011 points to 0.721.

The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 2.56% to 0.800, International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which was up 2.34% to settle at 1.31 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.90% to close at 1.070.

The worst performers were Al Khaleej Investment Co PJSC (AD:KICO) which was down 8.70% to 2.10 in late trade, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which lost 5.60% to settle at 1.180 and Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 3.26% to 0.890 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 7 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.16% or 0.11 to $68.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.56% or 0.41 to hit $72.99 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 7.90 to trade at $1231.90 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.68% to 4.3051.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 94.25.
