Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index fell 0.29%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA), which rose 2.45% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.090 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 1.70% or 0.090 points to end at 5.370 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 1.67% or 0.020 points to 1.220 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 3.51% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.200 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 2.00% or 0.014 points to end at 0.685 and National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN) shed 1.95% or 0.04 points to 2.01.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 6.00% to 0.530, International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which was up 2.40% to settle at 1.28 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.83% to close at 1.110.

The worst performers were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 10.00% to 2.250 in late trade, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which lost 4.33% to settle at 4.20 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.75% to 0.770 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 rose and 8 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.43% or 0.98 to $67.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.05% or 1.52 to hit $72.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.00 to trade at $1217.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.20% to 4.2843.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.46.
