Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Services, Transport and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.22%, while the ADX General index declined 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which rose 7.48% or 0.240 points to trade at 3.450 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 6.00% or 0.051 points to end at 0.901 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 4.34% or 0.018 points to 0.433 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA), which lost 2.43% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.410 in late trade. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) declined 1.74% or 0.020 points to end at 1.130 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) shed 0.88% or 0.010 points to 1.130.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 6.06% to 0.700, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 3.90% to settle at 0.800 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 3.57% to close at 1.45.
The worst performers were National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) which was down 8.81% to 3.00 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 6.15% to settle at 2.440 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 2.38% to 1.230 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.26% or 0.12 to $46.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 7.97 to trade at $1234.33 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.39% to 4.1780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 95.81.
