Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.79%, while the ADX General index added 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 14.88% or 0.068 points to trade at 0.525 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 7.64% or 0.120 points to end at 1.690 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 6.19% or 0.035 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 1.68% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.528 at the close. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 1.23% or 0.040 points to end at 3.210 and National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 13.64% to 1.00, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 6.00% to settle at 0.530 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 5.79% to close at 6.40.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 5.26% to 2.70 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 4.43% to settle at 1.51 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 2.99% to 2.92 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 2; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 rose and 9 declined.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.42% or 0.64 to $45.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.12% or 0.54 to hit $48.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 4.60 to trade at $1107.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.45% to 4.1209.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.99.
