Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.77%, while the ADX General index added 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 7.19% or 0.057 points to trade at 0.850 at the close. Meanwhile, SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 2.66% or 0.016 points to end at 0.618 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 2.25% or 0.007 points to 0.318 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 3.17% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.830 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.67% or 0.016 points to end at 0.583 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) was down 1.02% or 0.070 points to 6.780.

The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 10.91% to 0.610, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was up 3.17% to settle at 0.650 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which gained 2.42% to close at 1.69.

The worst performers were Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 2.90% to 0.670 in late trade, Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which lost 2.00% to settle at 6.86 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 1.45% to 0.690 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 6; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 rose and 5 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.92% or 1.51 to $53.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.43% or 1.96 to hit $59.01 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.00 to trade at $1164.50 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.14% to 4.0634.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 96.46.
