Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.84%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which rose 5.42% or 0.180 points to trade at 3.500 at the close. Meanwhile, ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 1.28% or 0.040 points to end at 3.160 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 0.84% or 0.010 points to 1.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 6.15% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.504 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 2.66% or 0.017 points to end at 0.621 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was down 2.61% or 0.012 points to 0.448.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 7.28% to 2.80, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 3.70% to settle at 0.560 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 3.53% to close at 0.880.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 9.18% to 0.89 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 3.16% to settle at 0.920 and National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 3.16% to 4.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 6 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 rose and 8 declined, while 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.77% or 0.81 to $44.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.73% or 0.84 to hit $47.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.10% or 12.60 to trade at $1133.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.24% to 4.1031.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 96.49.
