Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.23% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 10.75% or 0.2590 points to trade at 2.6680 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 2.66% or 0.330 points to end at 12.735 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 1.78% or 0.0960 points to 5.4930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.55% or 0.2100 points to trade at 13.3100 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.43% or 0.0460 points to end at 3.1730 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) shed 1.36% or 0.044 points to 3.180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 3.72% or 1.81 to $46.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.75% or 1.74 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.88 to trade at $1277.48 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 96.46.
