Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS), which lost 21.05% or 1.60 points to trade at 6.00 in late trade. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 12.59% or 5.40 points to end at 37.50 and Trans Asia Hotels PLC (CM:TRAN) shed 10.63% or 8.50 points to 71.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 77 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.13% or 0.06 to $46.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.64% or 0.33 to hit $51.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.83 to trade at $1327.13 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 198.025, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 152.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 91.69.
