Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 3.67% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AS:TNTE), which fell 0.19% or 0.015 points to trade at 7.729 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AS:NN) fell 1.81% or 0.58 points to end at 31.54 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 2.10% or 0.270 points to 12.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 10.65% or 0.67 points to trade at 5.66 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 5.80% or 0.79 points to end at 12.82 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was down 4.72% or 1.98 points to 39.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 146 to 33 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; down 10.65% or 0.67 to 5.66. Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.80% or 0.79 to 12.82.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.38% to 22.25.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.45% or 0.98 to $40.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 3.12% or 1.32 to hit $43.81 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.46% or 4.80 to trade at $1058.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 2.95% to 1.0926, while EUR/GBP rose 1.89% to 0.7234.
The US Dollar Index was down 2.02% at 98.02.
