Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.09% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 9.33% or 0.905 points to trade at 10.600 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 3.45% or 0.75 points to end at 22.48 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) was up 2.93% or 1.45 points to 50.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 2.01% or 0.056 points to trade at 2.736 in late trade. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 1.90% or 0.08 points to end at 4.13 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 1.71% or 0.2700 points to 15.5500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 184 to 170 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.20 to $49.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $52.51 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.91 to trade at $1265.29 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.0871, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8471.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 99.13.
