Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Energy and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 2.29% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which rose 1.36% or 0.82 points to trade at 60.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.03% or 0.65 points to end at 63.70 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 0.50% or 0.06 points to 11.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 7.64% or 1.69 points to trade at 20.43 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 5.41% or 306.15 points to end at 5349.70 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was down 4.36% or 0.12 points to 2.63.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 371 to 187 and 118 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.64% or 1.69 to 20.43. Shares in LPP SA (WA:LPPP) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.41% or 306.15 to 5349.70.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.75% or 1.01 to $35.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.00% or 1.99 to hit $37.74 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.33% or 3.50 to trade at $1075.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.36% to 4.3632, while USD/PLN fell 0.17% to 3.9669.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 97.50.
