Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 5.47% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2700 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 3.28% or 0.0073 points to end at 0.2302 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.46% or 0.0130 points to 0.9020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 2.39% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.409 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 0.75% or 0.1300 points to end at 17.2950 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.40% or 0.0110 points to 2.7180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 3.78% or 2.04 to $51.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 4.01% or 2.06 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.45 to trade at $1255.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1216, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8656.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.06.
