Since the 2011 highs in the metals sector, silver has been weaker than gold (fell harder). The chart below looks at the past few years of the Silver ETF (NYSE:SLV) compared to the Gold ETF (NYSE:GLD).
The SLV/GLD ratio has remained inside of the above falling channel for the past few years, reflecting the SLV has been weaker than GLD. Of late, the ratio has attempted to break free from this falling channel, with no success.
This past week, the ratio blasted out of the falling channel, reflecting that SLV was much stronger than GLD at (1).
