Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (including the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities of companies that have market capitalizations in the range of the companies in the Russell Midcap® Value Index (the index) at the time of purchase that the fund's investment manager believes are undervalued and have the potential for long-term growth. It may invest up to 20% of its total assets in foreign securities. The fund normally invests in common stocks and also may invest in real estate investment trusts.

Biography David Hoffman is a senior portfolio manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. He is co‐lead portfolio manager on a midcap value product and portfolio manager on a smid‐cap value product. Mr. Hoffman joined one of the Columbia Threadneedle Investments legacy firms in 2001. Prior to his curren trole, Mr. Hoffman held other key research positions, including director of equity research, deputy director of research, and senior research analyst. Previously,Mr. Hoffman worked for Zurich Scudder Investments in several capacities. In addition to serving as an equity analyst covering consumer staples companies and real estate investment trusts, Mr. Hoffman co‐managed a dividend and growth fund, and co‐managed the firm’s value team of more than 20 portfolio managers and analysts. His earlier investment experience includes tenure as managing director, portfolio manager and analyst at HVB Asset Management, and as a vice president in real estate investments at Hypo Bank and its affiliates. Biography Nicolas Janvier is Head of US Equities, EMEA, at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. He took up this role in October 2020 and leads the London-based team which manages a significant US equities franchise for clients. Mr Janvier has been with the company for 14 years, working as a US equities portfolio manager in both our US and London offices. He is currently lead manager for the Threadneedle American strategy and Threadneedle American Smaller Companies strategy, as well as ESG portfolios managed by the London team. He is also co-portfolio manager of the Columbia Large Cap Growth Opportunity strategy. Mr Janvier joined the company in 2006, spending eight years in our New York office as a portfolio manager in the Value Strategies team focusing on US mid and small cap companies. Prior to this, Mr Janvier was a portfolio manager with the Private Bank at Bank of America. Mr Janvier holds a BSc in Telecommunications-Operations from the University of Florida. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

She was recognized as one of the top 100 Women in Finance in Europe in 2014 by European Financial News. Ms. Sobin has lead managed core equity, mid and small cap equities and dividend growth funds at Columbia Threadneedle, Zurich Scudder, JP Morgan (formerly Chase Manhattan) and Oppenheimer Funds. She holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of New York. Ms. Sobin graduated from Pace University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Prior to August, 2001, Ms. Ensinger directed the investment strategy for all institutional assets managed under the U.S. large-cap value style at Zurich Scudder Investments, Inc. from 1999 to 2001.
