Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.74%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which rose 3.75% or 2.040 points to trade at 56.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) added 3.33% or 1.370 points to end at 42.480 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 3.07% or 0.260 points to 8.730 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which fell 0.47% or 1.170 points to trade at 248.900 at the close. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 0.19% or 0.020 points to end at 10.430 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 0.03% or 0.010 points to 29.860.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 69 to 23 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) fell to all time lows; falling 0.19% or 0.020 to 10.430.
Gold for April delivery was down 2.40% or 29.80 to $1209.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.12% or 0.33 to hit $29.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 0.62 to trade at $33.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.59% to 18.7863, while EUR/MXN fell 1.59% to 20.9451.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 96.75.
