Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Plastic, Chemical and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shin Zu Shing (TW:3376), which rose 10.00% or 10.50 points to trade at 115.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Zinwell (TW:2485) added 10.00% or 4.30 points to end at 47.30 and Awea Mech (TW:1530) was up 10.00% or 3.15 points to 34.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025), which fell 10.00% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Yoko Tech (TW:6131) declined 9.95% or 1.09 points to end at 9.86 and Aoc (TW:6289) was down 6.90% or 0.08 points to 1.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 420 to 416 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shin Zu Shing (TW:3376) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.00% or 10.50 to 115.50. Shares in Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.20 to 1.80. Shares in Zinwell (TW:2485) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.00% or 4.30 to 47.30. Shares in Yoko Tech (TW:6131) fell to all time lows; falling 9.95% or 1.09 to 9.86.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.85% or 1.20 to $40.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.62 to hit $43.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.63% or 6.80 to trade at $1069.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.32% to 32.623, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1960.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 99.88.
