Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.15%, while the MDAX index fell 0.23%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 2.39% or 0.405 points to trade at 17.375 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 1.38% or 0.47 points to end at 34.83 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 1.38% or 0.245 points to 18.045 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens AG (DE:SIEGn), which lost 1.25% or 1.60 points to trade at 126.55 in late trade. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 1.16% or 1.25 points to end at 106.50 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) shed 0.96% or 0.185 points to 19.075.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which rose 2.69% to 36.510, LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was up 2.28% to settle at 83.870 and Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which gained 2.08% to close at 35.370.
The worst performers were Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which was down 1.73% to 35.820 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which lost 1.72% to settle at 33.065 and Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which was down 1.69% to 72.560 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which rose 3.32% to 4.298, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 2.39% to settle at 14.335 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 2.12% to close at 31.745.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 4.32% to 42.820 in late trade, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which lost 2.39% to settle at 20.640 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.52% to 59.660 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 395 to 352 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.47% to 13.51.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.49% or 6.11 to $1259.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.31 to hit $50.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.20 to trade at $53.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8639.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.88.
