Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 6.81% or 0.88 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 5.26% or 0.030 points to end at 0.600 and Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) was up 4.34% or 0.330 points to 7.940 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 7.23% or 0.74 points to trade at 9.50 in late trade. Tupras (IS:TUPRS) declined 6.73% or 4.20 points to end at 58.25 and Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC) shed 3.92% or 0.100 points to 2.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 235 to 97 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.65 to $1354.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.93% or 0.84 to hit $44.33 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 0.69 to trade at $46.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 2.9547, while EUR/TRY rose 0.19% to 3.3004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.61.
