Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction & Materials, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BRU:AGES), which rose 1.15% or 0.445 points to trade at 38.985 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BRU:TNET) added 1.09% or 0.57 points to end at 52.97 and Proximus NV (BRU:PROX) was up 0.93% or 0.32 points to 34.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BRU:BPOST), which fell 3.77% or 0.91 points to trade at 23.09 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) declined 0.67% or 0.20 points to end at 29.63 and Elia (BRU:ELI) was down 0.65% or 0.245 points to 37.610.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 69 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ageas (BRU:AGES) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.15% or 0.445 to 38.985.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.09% or 11.90 to $1106.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.05% or 0.90 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.15% or 1.55 to trade at $50.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.0998, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7063.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 97.35.
