Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 1.86%, while the ADX General index added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 10.40% or 0.052 points to trade at 0.552 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 6.88% or 0.110 points to end at 1.710 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 4.52% or 0.280 points to 6.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 5.36% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.97% or 0.014 points to end at 0.695 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was down 1.61% or 0.02 points to 1.22.
The top performers on the ADX General were Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which rose 4.87% to 2.37, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 4.76% to settle at 0.880 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 3.75% to close at 0.830.
The worst performers were Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which was down 9.09% to 5.00 in late trade, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which lost 6.67% to settle at 0.84 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 3.23% to 0.300 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 4; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 12 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) rose to 5-year highs; rising 6.88% or 0.110 to 1.710. Shares in Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) fell to all time lows; losing 3.23% or 0.010 to 0.300.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.63% or 0.76 to $45.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.51% or 0.75 to hit $48.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.00 to trade at $1137.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.15% to 4.0485.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.90.
