Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which rose 0.58% or 0.20 points to trade at 34.55 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A (MI:A2) added 0.56% or 0.007 points to end at 1.254 and Ansaldo STS (MI:STS) was up 0.51% or 0.05 points to 9.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which fell 2.41% or 0.1850 points to trade at 7.4900 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) declined 2.36% or 0.1500 points to end at 6.2000 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 1.80% or 0.2000 points to 10.9400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 214 to 201 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 3.41% or 1.29 to $36.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.08% or 1.17 to hit $36.62 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.78% or 8.30 to trade at $1059.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.0909, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7355.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 98.44.
