Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Real Estate and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which rose 5.71% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 7.80% or 0.27 points to end at 3.73 and Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (SA:GOLL4) was up 5.35% or 0.24 points to 4.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCR SA (SA:CCRO3), which fell 6.76% or 0.95 points to trade at 13.10 at the close. Oi SA (SA:OIBR4) declined 5.66% or 0.15 points to end at 2.50 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was down 5.11% or 0.38 points to 7.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 158 to 140 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.76% or 0.95 to 13.10. Shares in Oi SA (SA:OIBR4) fell to all time lows; down 5.66% or 0.15 to 2.50. Shares in Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.11% or 0.38 to 7.05.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.12% to 53.57.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.40 to $1121.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.46% or 0.21 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.26% or 1.50 to trade at $120.72 .
USD/BRL was down 0.37% to 3.8247, while EUR/BRL rose 0.02% to 4.2895.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.83.
