Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 2.02% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.64 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 2.00% or 0.43 points to end at 21.96 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb) was up 1.90% or 1.100 points to 59.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 0.95% or 0.24 points to trade at 25.14 at the close. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 0.26% or 0.19 points to end at 71.67 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.23% or 0.04 points to 15.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 51 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.99% or 11.70 to $1171.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.68% or 1.28 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.96% or 1.50 to trade at $48.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1323, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.7320.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.97.
