Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Electricity and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.01% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which rose 12.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 8.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.250 and Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) was up 5.71% or 3.45 points to 63.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 2.46% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.80 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 1.86% or 0.35 points to end at 18.50 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) was down 1.86% or 0.06 points to 3.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 284 to 114 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.47% or 5.30 to $1132.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.91% or 1.31 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 0.84 to trade at $48.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 3.0022, while EUR/TRY fell 0.93% to 3.3660.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 95.94.
