Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.04% or 0.0340 points to trade at 1.7040 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.76% or 0.0210 points to end at 2.7740 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.35% or 0.0090 points to 2.5840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which lost 6.60% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.2830 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 5.78% or 0.0240 points to end at 0.3910 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) shed 4.10% or 0.0500 points to 1.1700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 36 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.47% or 1.01 to $39.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.32% or 1.26 to hit $36.64 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1266.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1017, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.7745.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.10.
