Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 0.75% or 0.27 points to trade at 35.37 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.65% or 0.09 points to end at 13.84 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.42% or 0.45 points to 107.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 7.75% or 10.00 points to trade at 119.00 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 3.47% or 1.660 points to end at 46.220 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) shed 1.33% or 1.27 points to 94.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 56 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 2.78% or 34.20 to $1264.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.56% or 1.37 to hit $39.83 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.33% or 0.94 to trade at $41.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7816.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.99% at 94.75.
