Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Media and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 4.30% or 7.15 points to trade at 173.45 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 4.12% or 2.94 points to end at 74.27 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 3.75% or 0.92 points to 25.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 7.23% or 0.81 points to trade at 10.40 in late trade. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 6.80% or 0.65 points to end at 8.91 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 5.56% or 2.76 points to 46.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 239 and 188 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.45% or 1.11 to $46.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.86% or 0.87 to hit $47.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.19% or 15.85 to trade at $1347.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.28% to 4.2790, while USD/PLN fell 0.65% to 3.8098.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.14.
