Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 0.79% or 0.0230 points to trade at 2.9220 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.41% or 0.0550 points to end at 13.4250 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 0.30% or 0.009 points to 2.999 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.62% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.3720 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.72% or 0.0029 points to end at 0.1654 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 1.32% or 0.200 points to 14.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 10 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.35% or 0.18 to $50.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.45 to trade at $1249.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.0811, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8663.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 99.40.
