Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.45% or 0.0930 points to trade at 2.1810 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.60% or 0.0300 points to end at 5.0610 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.59% or 0.0850 points to 14.5200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.71% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.3370 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.17% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1805 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.07% or 0.0100 points to 0.9210.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 17 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.71% or 0.39 to $55.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.03% or 0.53 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.07% or 13.35 to trade at $1266.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0604, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8557.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 100.91.
