Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 4.11%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 8.40% or 0.45 points to trade at 5.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Tupras (IS:TUPRS) added 7.05% or 4.70 points to end at 71.40 and Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) was up 6.89% or 0.21 points to 3.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 2.30% or 0.020 points to end at 0.850 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 2.05% or 0.21 points to 10.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 337 to 69 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.30% or 0.020 to 0.850. Shares in Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) fell to all time lows; losing 2.05% or 0.21 to 10.01.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.20 to $1060.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.42% or 0.88 to hit $37.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 0.69 to trade at $38.85 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.58% to 2.9622, while EUR/TRY fell 1.31% to 3.2334.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 98.30.
