Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 3.54% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 3.44% or 0.91 points to end at 27.21 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 3.22% or 0.91 points to 28.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which fell 0.36% or 0.35 points to trade at 96.37 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.02% or 0.02 points to end at 93.28 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.07% or 0.030 points to 42.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 111 to 42 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.27% or 13.50 to $1075.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 4.26% or 1.59 to hit $35.76 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.09% or 1.20 to trade at $37.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0936, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.7288.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 98.24.
