Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 2.29% or 0.0260 points to trade at 1.1590 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.18% or 0.0011 points to end at 0.0515 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 2.13% or 0.2150 points to 10.2900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REN (LS:RENE), which fell 2.17% or 0.0600 points to trade at 2.7050 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.84% or 0.0340 points to end at 1.8110 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPRu) was down 1.38% or 0.0970 points to 6.9110.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 24 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.84% or 0.0340 to 1.8110.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.18% or 0.07 to $36.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.23% or 0.44 to hit $36.25 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.66% or 7.10 to trade at $1073.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0969, while EUR/GBP rose 0.98% to 0.7405.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 98.13.
