Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.92% or 0.0300 points to trade at 0.6400 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 2.69% or 0.3000 points to end at 11.4500 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.11% or 0.0007 points to 0.0339 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.17% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1350 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.28% or 0.087 points to end at 6.713 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.25% or 0.1400 points to 11.0800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 3.85% or 1.65 to $44.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.64% or 1.47 to hit $41.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1257.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1381, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.7985.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.10.
