Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.26% or 0.0380 points to trade at 1.7210 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.53% or 0.0400 points to end at 2.6600 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.44% or 0.0460 points to 3.2410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.82% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1720 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.02% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.6300 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) shed 1.24% or 0.0140 points to 1.1120.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 18 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.68% or 0.80 to $46.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.69% or 0.79 to hit $45.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.65 to trade at $1329.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1067, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8346.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.60.
