Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 3.01% or 0.745 points to trade at 25.455 at the close. Meanwhile, Vopak (AMS:VOPA) added 2.62% or 0.96 points to end at 37.80 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was up 2.52% or 0.57 points to 23.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AMS:RAND), which fell 3.40% or 1.95 points to trade at 55.33 at the close. Gemalto (AMS:GTO) declined 3.04% or 1.97 points to end at 62.82 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) was down 1.16% or 2.70 points to 230.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 126 to 89 and 2 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.37% to 29.82.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 6.91% or 2.94 to $45.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 6.13% or 2.92 to hit $50.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.98% or 11.00 to trade at $1133.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.7262.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 96.29.
