Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 4.84% or 0.750 points to trade at 16.240 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 3.82% or 0.960 points to end at 26.090 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 3.78% or 1.19 points to 32.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which lost 3.95% or 4.630 points to trade at 112.520 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 3.68% or 1.230 points to end at 32.220 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 3.35% or 0.820 points to 23.650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 83 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.66% or 8.05 to $1215.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.38% or 0.63 to hit $44.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.03 to trade at $46.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 20.4395, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.7151.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 101.00.
