Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 3.35% or 0.236 points to trade at 7.285 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 0.43% or 0.0050 points to end at 1.1650 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.42% or 0.0280 points to 6.6760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 5.41% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.1400 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.86% or 0.0009 points to end at 0.0306 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.01% or 0.0190 points to 0.9250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.93% or 0.47 to $50.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.34% or 0.66 to hit $49.99 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1217.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1140, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.7675.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.74.
