Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 2.66%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 9.15% or 1.11 points to trade at 13.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 4.13% or 0.610 points to end at 15.365 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was up 3.55% or 1.40 points to 40.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 5.87% or 0.22 points to trade at 3.48 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 0.15% or 0.01 points to end at 5.44 and TNT Express (AS:TNTE) was up 0.49% or 0.038 points to 7.868.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 138 to 24 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in TNT Express (AS:TNTE) rose to 3-years highs; rising 0.49% or 0.038 to 7.868.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.74% to 26.20.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.75% or 0.25 to $33.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.39% or 0.83 to hit $35.63 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.40 to trade at $1117.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.00% to 1.0831, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7630.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.08% at 99.69.
