Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which rose 6.35% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 4.58% or 1.94 points to end at 44.30 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was up 4.44% or 0.54 points to 12.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) declined 3.35% or 1.20 points to end at 34.60 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) was down 3.24% or 0.38 points to 11.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 312 to 87 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.35% or 0.16 to 2.68. Shares in Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.24% or 0.38 to 11.36.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.57% or 6.20 to $1080.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.59% or 0.79 to hit $31.27 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 0.43 to trade at $30.61 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 3.0251, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 3.2887.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 99.19.
