Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 5.10% or 1.62 points to trade at 33.38 at the close. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 4.11% or 0.030 points to end at 0.760 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 2.38% or 0.170 points to 7.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 12.58% or 0.60 points to trade at 4.17 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 5.78% or 0.83 points to end at 13.52 and Good-Year (IS:GOODY) shed 4.26% or 5.60 points to 126.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 242 to 92 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.95 to $1276.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.99% or 1.38 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 1.29 to trade at $49.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 2.9733, while EUR/TRY rose 0.28% to 3.3695.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.46.
