Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.44% or 0.66 points to trade at 46.23 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.88% or 1.15 points to end at 131.75 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.85% or 0.18 points to 22.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 1.66% or 0.94 points to trade at 55.76 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.38% or 1.00 points to end at 71.56 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) shed 0.82% or 0.73 points to 88.01.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 49 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 1.89 to $1267.79 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $51.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.0893, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8415.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 98.94.
