Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which fell 0.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 109.85 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) fell 0.10% or 0.10 points to end at 103.15 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 0.14% or 0.04 points to 29.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 2.70% or 0.35 points to trade at 12.81 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 2.34% or 1.10 points to end at 45.88 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 2.16% or 0.66 points to 29.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 28 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1291.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.72% or 0.38 to hit $52.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.60 to trade at $54.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.0699, while EUR/GBP fell 0.99% to 0.8385.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 99.69.
