Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS), which rose 7.84% or 0.2580 points to trade at 3.5490 at the close. Meanwhile, Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) added 4.43% or 0.03 points to end at 0.73 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 2.84% or 0.0570 points to 2.0670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 4.49% or 0.0024 points to trade at 0.0510 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 3.02% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.4500 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was down 2.44% or 0.0001 points to 0.0041.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 19 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.49% or 0.0024 to 0.0510. Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.02% or 0.0140 to 0.4500. Shares in Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) fell to all time lows; down 2.44% or 0.0001 to 0.0041.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.69% or 0.83 to $48.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.52% or 0.70 to hit $45.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.77% or 19.80 to trade at $1101.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7262.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.31.
