Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Retail and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.65% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Korres (AT:KRRr), which rose 9.84% or 0.30 points to trade at 3.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 5.10% or 0.005 points to end at 0.103 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 3.54% or 0.017 points to 0.497 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ellaktor (AT:HELr), which fell 8.20% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.120 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.29% or 0.010 points to end at 0.149 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was down 5.84% or 0.0900 points to 1.4500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to all time lows; losing 6.29% or 0.010 to 0.149.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.08% or 12.00 to $1094.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.82% or 0.80 to hit $29.15 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.71% or 0.76 to trade at $28.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.0831, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7638.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 99.43.
