Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.33% or 0.0630 points to trade at 1.9570 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 2.45% or 0.245 points to end at 10.245 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 1.79% or 0.054 points to 3.079 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.06% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.1901 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.95% or 0.0280 points to end at 0.9200 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 2.33% or 0.3900 points to 16.3800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.49% or 0.26 to $53.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $50.36 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1254.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0661, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.8542.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.46.
